OUR NEPAL TREKS

Explore our full range of guided treks and adventures below. All trips are led by experienced Australian and Nepali guides with a strong focus on safety, cultural respect, and leaving a positive impact on the communities we visit.

Meditating at Nag Pokhari Sacred Lake

HGA invites you to take time to breathe and immerse yourself in rich Nepali culture and spirituality, surrounded by the majestic views of the Annapurna, Chulu, Ganesh and Manaslu mountain ranges.

View from Tserko Ri 5000m. The high point of our trek.

With a relatively short walk in, it represents one of the swiftest ways in Nepal to get amongst some really big peaks. Get amongst high sherpa villages after a few days and explore the side valleys and upper Langtang in its winter cloak.

Mera Peak and Amphu Labtsa Expedition Home Page Image

Designed for fit and adventrous trekkers and budding mountaineers, this expedition is held in the tourist free off season to the huge snow and ice peak of Mera (6584m) and returns via the spectacular Zatra La pass into the Everest Region.

From panoramic peaks to elephant encounters, this 13-day journey offers the perfect balance of culture, nature, and excitement — all wrapped up in one unforgettable trip.

Manaslu Mountain Biking

In the lower Manaslu region of Nepal underneath the Manaslu Massif and the huge peaks of Himalchuli 7892m and Buddha peak 6650m lies a fascinating network of wild roads and pastures connecting remote villages. The landscape is phenomenal and allows for descents of over 2000m. Our fully supported mountain biking trip is suited to varying abilities from expert to novice. Cheaper, more authentic and more family friendly than Mustang or Annapurna our shuttle supported trip is a must. Details coming online soon.

Private Guiding

It can be difficult to arrange a date on one of our treks that works for you or you may have a group or a special other that you want to take privately. We have both western and Nepalese staff based in Nepal who are available to guide year round. We have run many private guiding treks to Langtang, the Annapurnas and Manaslu. We can link your trek into ongoing travel arrangements. Pricing is generally similar to that offered on our commercial treks, however you will have an experienced Nepali guide and not a western one, unless requested at extra cost. The level of independence, porterage, medical support and style of trek will influence the price. We would love to customise something for you. Get in touch!

REVIEWS FROM REAL PEOPLE

I did a women’s trek with Himalayan guiding Australia in 2019. It went for roughly 2 weeks and we did hiking, walking, visited many villages and it was well organised. Helen was very helpful, friendly and informative. She knew her stuff haha I was there simply to enjoy the culture, scenery and food. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend it.

I’ve always wanted to visit Nepal, especially after hearing many great stories from close friends and others reflecting on their own Nepalese experiences and adventures.
Nonetheless, Seane and his Nepalese staff team, were always supportive towards our group. They created a positive and trusting environment, enabling us to feel safe and well cared for. We could ask any and all questions, if we were curious or ever needed clarity.
I always felt safe, listened to with any questions or concerns, and very well cared for.
Walking the Langtang Valley was a truely beautiful and memorable experience!! Challenging, at times, yet catered for mixed abilities with memorable scenery, culturally rich locals and spectacular surrounding mountains, the deeper you headed into the valley.
Thanks Seane. Also to Sandesh, Norbo & all other staff and guides.
I can only highly recommend a trip with them!

An incredible experience on the Langtang Valley Track making very special memories.
Seane and his gang of local guides and porters went out of their way to make this
possible.
Thank you Himalayan Guiding Australia for your care, safety and fun.
Highly recommend!

Nepal is a beautiful country however you definitely need the right people to guide you. Seane and his team absolutely nailed it on our recent trip to the Langtang valley. His extensive lists covering gear we needed, medicals, visas on entry , pre zoom calls we felt in very safe hands. On the ground in Kathmandu and out on the hike his team led by Sandesh delivered for us. The Langtang valley hike is awesome but challenging, however with Seane leading it was one of the best things we have ever experienced . We were a group of experienced hikers from Central coast but Nepal was next level.
Highly recommend Himalayan guiding Australia.

RESPONSIBLE & ETHICAL NEPAL TREKS

Responsible tourism is core to everything we do at Himalayan Guiding Australia. We have deep roots in the Manaslu region and are committed to operating with respect for the environment, local people, and culture on every Nepal trek.

Our Key Principles

➡️ Leave every campsite better than we found it – we burn and bury all rubbish.

➡️ Minimise packaging and buy locally wherever possible.

➡️ Pay our Nepali staff fair wages directly (no agencies), insure them, and treat them like family.

➡️ Respect local customs – no sweets to children, no giving to beggars, and culturally appropriate behaviour.

➡️ Make community donations collectively through village women’s groups.

Since 2015 we have also supported reconstruction projects in Dharepani and Sirandanda villages, including building a community lodge.

“High up in the exalted snow-capped peaks of the majestic Himalayas, time had a different meaning — Or, no meaning.”
