The Langtang Valley Trek is a stunning journey through traditional Tamang villages, rhododendron forests and high alpine landscapes, all within reach of Kathmandu. This less-travelled region offers authentic cultural experiences, incredible mountain views and a warm welcome from local communities.
We’ve designed this exploratory trek to give you time to soak in the beauty of the valley, with the option to extend your adventure to Tserko Ri (5,000m) for panoramic Himalayan views.

Your Langtang Valley Trek Itinerary
Day 01 Arrive in Kathmandu
Arrive at Kathmandu and transfer to the hotel. Meet group and dinner at Bon Appetit at 6pm.

Day 02 Kathmandu sightseeing and preparation
In Kathmandu. Introductions and meet trek members and staff. Visit Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) in the morning. Afternoon at leisure for shopping, last-minute gear purchases and being a tourist! Meet for dinner at 6pm. Venue TBC.

Day 03 Drive to Syabrubesi
Chartered bus trip to Syabrubesi 1500m at the foot of the Gorge of the Langtang Khola (6-8hrs).

Day 04 Trek to Lama Hotel
Trek through the Langtang Khola Gorge to Lama Hotel 2410m (6hrs).
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 05 Trek to Ghoretabela
Trek to Ghoretabela 3100m (3hrs).
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 06 Trek to Langtang Village
Trek to Langtang Village 3500m (3hrs).
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 07 Rest day in Langtang Village
Rest day, acclimatisation and exploration around Langtang Village.
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 08 Trek to Kyangin Gompa
Trek to Kyangin Gompa 3800m (3-4 hours).
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 09 Explore Kyangin Gompa
Rest day, acclimatisation and exploration around Kyangin Gompa including an ascent of Kyangin Ri.
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 10 Ascent of Tserko Ri
Ascent of Tserko Ri 5000m and descend back to Kyangin (10 to 12 hours).

Day 11 Trek to Ghoretabela
Trek down to Ghoretabela 3100m (4hrs).
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 12 Trek to Syabrubesi
Trek down to Syabrubesi 1500m.
Meals provided – B, L & D
Day 13 Return to Kathmandu
Drive to KTM (6hrs). Departure Dinner.

Day 14 Trip concludes
Trip concludes in Kathmandu at 11am.

Inclusions
- Transfers to and from Kathmandu airport to hotel in Kathmandu
- Internal transport to trek start in chartered vehicle
- Accommodation at a hotel in Thamel on a twin share basis. Single rooms available for an extra charge.
- Qualified and experienced Australian Guide, Seane Pieper. 10 Langtang Trips. WFA qualified.
- Fluent English speaking NMGA Qualified Nepali Mountain Guide, Sandesh Tamang
- Porter to carry all your gear (max 15 kg each)
- Expedition medical kit, including O2, Hyperbaric Chamber and Satellite phone (for emergency use)
- Whilst on the trek all meals provided at lodges
