OUR BEST NEPAL TREKS

Meditating at Nag Pokhari Sacred Lake

HGA invites you to take time to breathe and immerse yourself in rich Nepali culture and spirituality, surrounded by the majestic views of the Annapurna, Chulu, Ganesh and Manaslu mountain ranges.

View from Tserko Ri 5000m. The high point of our trek.

With a relatively short walk in, it represents one of the swiftest ways in Nepal to get amongst some really big peaks. Get amongst high sherpa villages after a few days and explore the side valleys and upper Langtang in its winter cloak.

Manaslu Mountain Biking

In the lower Manaslu region of Nepal underneath the Manaslu Massif and the huge peaks of Himalchuli 7892m and Buddha peak 6650m lies a fascinating network of wild roads and pastures connecting remote villages. The landscape is phenomenal and allows for descents of over 2000m. Our fully supported mountain biking trip is suited to varying abilities from expert to novice. Cheaper, more authentic and more family friendly than Mustang or Annapurna our shuttle supported trip is a must. Details coming online soon.

Private Guiding

It can be difficult to arrange a date on one of our treks that works for you or you may have a group or a special other that you want to take privately. We have both western and Nepalese staff based in Nepal who are available to guide year round. We have run many private guiding treks to Langtang, the Annapurnas and Manaslu. We can link your trek into ongoing travel arrangements. Pricing is generally similar to that offered on our commercial treks, however you will have an experienced Nepali guide and not a western one, unless requested at extra cost. The level of independence, porterage, medical support and style of trek will influence the price. We would love to customise something for you. Get in touch!

“Why do we travel to remote locations? to prove our adventurous spirit or to tell stories about incredible things? we do it to be alone amongst friends and to find ourselves in a land without man.”

This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. We travelled off the main tourist road and got to truly appreciate the culture of Nepal. Everything was well managed. The food was delicious and the guides were so friendly and helpful. 5 star adventure.

An incredible experience on the Langtang Valley Track making very special memories. Seane and his gang of local guides and porters went out of their way to make this possible. Thank you Himalayan Guiding Australia for your care, safety and fun. Highly recommend!

I did a women's trek with Himalayan Guiding Australia in 2019. It went for roughly 2 weeks and we did hiking, walking, visited many villages and it was well organised. Helen was very helpful, friendly and informative. She knew her stuff! I was there simply to enjoy the culture, scenery and food. I had a wonderful time and highly recommend it.

Had a wonderful trip and really enjoyed every minute. Seane Pieper is a wonderful host.

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about trekking in Nepal with HGA

What makes HGA different from other Nepal trekking companies? +

HGA has been operating in the Lower Manaslu region since 2015 — not jumping between circuits like most commercial operators. Our guides are employed directly and paid year-round, our accommodation is locally owned, and we invest in the communities we trek through. Read more on our responsible trekking page.

Which Nepal trek is right for me? +

It depends on your fitness level and what you're looking for. The Himalayan Sacred Lakes Trek suits those wanting a spiritual, off the beaten track experience. The Mera Peak Expedition is for fit trekkers with a mountaineering goal. Visit our treks and retreats page to compare all options.

Are your treks suitable for beginners? +

Yes — some of our treks are designed for people with a reasonable base fitness and no prior trekking experience. Our trip gradings and training page explains what fitness level each trek requires and how to prepare.

What is the best time of year to trek in Nepal? +

October to November and March to May are the most popular seasons with clear skies and stable conditions. Some of our treks like the Mera Peak Winter Expedition are specifically designed for the off-season when the mountains are quieter and more dramatic.

How do I book or enquire about a trek? +

The easiest way is to get in touch via our contact page or call Seane directly on 0439 046 347. We're a small team and we'll give you a straight, personal answer about what's right for you.

Can I support the Nepal communities without booking a trek? +

Yes — you can donate directly to our community projects in Dharepani and Sirandanda via our support Nepal page. 100% of donations go directly to verified community projects.
