FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How do I book a trek?
Get in touch via the form above or call Seane directly on 0439 046 347. We’ll talk you through availability, upcoming departure dates, and next steps. You can also browse all our treks and retreats first to find the right fit.
What is the best time to go trekking in Nepal?
October to November and March to May are the best seasons — clear skies, stable trails and comfortable temperatures. Some of our treks like the Mera Peak Winter Expedition are specifically designed for the off-season. Check our trip gradings and training page for more detail.
Are private treks available?
Yes — we offer private departures for couples, families and small groups. Most of our treks including the Himalayan Sacred Lakes Trek can run as a private departure. Contact us to discuss your group size and preferred dates.
Do you offer custom dates?
Yes. Most of our treks can be tailored around your schedule. Get in touch and we’ll work with you to find dates that suit. For longer or more complex expeditions like Mera Peak, we recommend getting in touch at least 3 months ahead.
How physically fit do I need to be?
It depends on the trek. The Himalayan Sacred Lakes Trek is suitable for people with a reasonable base fitness, while the Mera Peak Expedition requires solid fitness and some prior trekking experience. Visit our trip gradings and training page for a full breakdown.
How does HGA support responsible trekking and its staff in Nepal?
Unlike many commercial trekking operators, our Nepali guides and porters are employed directly by HGA and paid a fixed salary year-round — not just when treks are running. We’ve worked with the same team in the Lower Manaslu region since 2015, and we’re committed to the long-term welfare of the communities of Dharepani and Sirandanda, not just during trekking season. You can read the full detail on our responsible trekking in Nepal page or find out how to directly support our Nepali team and community projects on our support Nepal page.
