OVERVIEW

Namaste! 

Thank you for your interest in our Mera Peak (6461m) and Amphu Labtsa Pass (5841m) expedition. This is an epic trek and climb, without a doubt, combining a high glaciated peak, 2 high passes and visiting the spectacular villages of the Everest region on return. Our expedition takes a lesser travelled approach and returns through remote valleys and over the spectacular and technical Amphu Labtsa Pass (5841m) into the Everest region. The trek is fully tented, led by a qualified western leader and experienced local staff. We have travlled this route before and can assure you of it’s challenging beauty!

Drive to Phaplu, 8-10 hours.

Day 04. 

Trek to Ringmo 2931m, 5 hours.

Day 05.

Trek to Khariikhola 2370m, 6/7 hours.

Meals provided – B, L & D

Day 06.

Trek to Pangkongma 2846m, 5/6 hours.

Meals provided – B, L & D

Day 07.

Trek to Najing Dingma 2600m, 5/6 hours.

Meals provided – B, L & D

Day 08.

Trek to Chalen Kharkha, 3600m, 4 hours.

Meals provided – B, L & D

Day 09.

Trek to Chunbu Kharka, 4200m, 6/7 hours.

Day 10.

Trek to Kothe 3600m, 6/7 hours.

Day 11.

Trek to Thangnak 4356m, 3/4 hours.

Day 12.

Rest day for acclimatization and preparation for climbing.

Trek to Khare 4659m, 2/3 hours.

Trek to Mera La camp 5350m, 5 hours.

Day 16.

Climb to high camp 5780m, 3/4 hours.

Day 17.

Climb to Mera Central 6500m, summit and back to Mera La.

Day 18/19.

Contingency days.

Trek to Kongme Dingma, 4 hours.

Day 21.

Trek to Seto Pokhari, 5 hours.

Day 22.

Amphu Labtsa Base Camp, 5 hours.

Day 23.

Cross the Amphu Labtsa Pass and descend to camp.

Day 24.

Trek to Dingboche.

Day 25.

Trek to Tengboche.

In Namche Bazaar.

Fly to KTM and farewell dinner.

INCLUSIONS & NON-INCLUSIONS

  • Transfers from Kathmandu Airport to Hotel

  • Accommodation in a hotel in Kathmandu, twin share

  • Breakfasts in Kathmandu at Hotel

  • Internal transport to trek start and finish points in private bus and or jeep.

  • Return Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu

  • 20kg luggage allowance on Lukla flights ( 5kg carry on plus 15kg checked)

  • Porter to carry all your gear (max 20 kg each)

  • Climbing Kit including Crampons, Ice Axe and Helmet 

  • Experienced Australian guide to accompany qualified Sherpa staff for trip duration 

  • Satellite Phone

  • Expedition Medical Kit, including; Gamow bag and Medical Oxygen

  • Insulated mat for use during trek

  • Expedition Kitbag

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner at lodges and in tented camps on the trek

  • 3 man, 4 season tents for two people per tent (private tent extra charge)

ACCOMMODATION

In Kathmandu, we normally stay at Mums Home Hotel, a funky and welcoming 3-star hotel close to Thamel. It has big rooms, great showers and beds, good WIFI, a beaut breakfast and very helpful staff. It is home for us and we hope you like it too. Twin-share accommodation is included in your trip price, however, there is a range of rooms from singles to a family apartment that can be arranged, at an extra cost. 

When tenting we use only the most proven winter and mountaineering tents made in Australia specifically for the purpose. They are 3 person tents which are allocated to two.
